Hüaluronaatidele

Hüaluronaatidele refers to the salts of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring polysaccharide, a type of sugar molecule, found in many tissues of the human body, particularly in the skin, connective tissues, and eyes. Its primary function is to retain water, helping to keep tissues lubricated and hydrated.

When hyaluronic acid loses a proton, it becomes a hyaluronate anion. The salts formed with this anion are called hyaluronates. Common examples include sodium hyaluronate and potassium hyaluronate. These salts share many of the same beneficial properties as hyaluronic acid itself, including excellent water-binding capacity and viscoelasticity.

In various applications, particularly in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, hyaluronates are often used instead of or alongside hyaluronic acid. This is partly due to their stability and ease of formulation. They are widely incorporated into skincare products like moisturizers, serums, and anti-aging creams for their hydrating and plumping effects. In ophthalmology, hyaluronate solutions are used in eye drops to relieve dry eye symptoms and as a component in viscoelastic solutions during cataract surgery. They are also found in joint injections to alleviate osteoarthritis pain by lubricating the joint. The widespread use of hyaluronates stems from their biocompatibility and low immunogenicity, meaning they are generally well-tolerated by the body.
