Hányingerérzés

Hányingerérzés, commonly referred to as nausea, is a subjective sensation of feeling an urge to vomit. It is not a disease in itself but rather a symptom that can be caused by a wide variety of underlying conditions. The sensation is often felt in the back of the throat and stomach, and can be accompanied by other physical symptoms.

Several factors can trigger nausea. These include motion sickness, which occurs when the brain receives conflicting signals from the eyes and inner ear. Gastrointestinal issues such as food poisoning, infections, ulcers, or irritable bowel syndrome are also frequent causes. Migraine headaches, certain medications (including chemotherapy drugs and anesthetics), and even strong emotions like anxiety or fear can induce nausea. Pregnancy, particularly in the first trimester, is well-known for causing morning sickness, a form of nausea.

The experience of nausea can vary in intensity and duration. It may be mild and transient, or severe and persistent, significantly impacting an individual's quality of life. Associated symptoms can include pallor, sweating, increased salivation, and a general feeling of malaise. While nausea itself is usually not dangerous, it can lead to dehydration and malnutrition if vomiting becomes frequent. Medical evaluation is often recommended to identify the cause of persistent or severe nausea. Treatment focuses on addressing the underlying condition responsible for the symptom.
