The myocardium can be described as hypotrophic in certain developmental or nutritional states. In botany or plant sciences, hypotrophic growth may describe organs or tissues that are underdeveloped due to environmental stress, nutrient limitation, or genetic factors, though more precise terms like hypoplasia or stunting are common.
