Hydrauliikkaöljytyypit refer to the various formulations of hydraulic fluids used in hydraulic systems. These fluids are essential for transmitting power, lubricating components, dissipating heat, and preventing corrosion. The choice of hydraulic fluid depends on the specific application, operating temperature, pressure, and environmental considerations.

Mineral oil-based hydraulic fluids are the most common type. They are derived from petroleum and offer good lubrication and thermal stability for general-purpose applications. These oils are often categorized by their viscosity grade, such as ISO VG 32, 46, or 68, indicating their kinematic viscosity at 40°C. Additives are commonly incorporated into mineral oils to enhance properties like anti-wear, rust and oxidation inhibition, and demulsibility.

Synthetic hydraulic fluids are engineered fluids designed for more demanding conditions. They offer superior performance in terms of thermal and oxidative stability, low-temperature fluidity, and fire resistance. Examples include phosphate esters, polyol esters, and silicone-based fluids. While more expensive than mineral oils, synthetic fluids are often chosen for high-temperature, high-pressure, or fire-hazardous environments.

Fire-resistant hydraulic fluids are specifically designed to reduce fire hazards in areas where ignition sources are present. These include water-glycol fluids, phosphate esters, and water-in-oil emulsions. Each type offers different levels of fire resistance and may have specific compatibility considerations with system components.

Biodegradable hydraulic fluids are environmentally friendly options that break down more readily in the environment. They are often based on vegetable oils or synthetic esters with good biodegradability. These fluids are suitable for applications where potential leaks could contaminate soil or water. Proper selection of the hydraulic fluid type is critical for the efficiency, longevity, and safety of any hydraulic system.
