Huopakatteet, often translated as felt roofing or asphalt shingles, are a common roofing material known for their affordability and ease of installation. They consist of a mat made of organic felt or fiberglass that is saturated with asphalt. This asphalt-saturated felt is then coated with mineral granules on the surface, which provide UV protection, color, and fire resistance.
