Hohwasser

Hohwasser is a term used in German to describe a "dry riverbed" or "intermittent stream." These are watercourses that do not have a continuous flow of water throughout the year. Instead, they may be dry for extended periods and then carry water only after significant rainfall or snowmelt. Hohwasser phenomena are common in regions with arid or semi-arid climates, or in areas where groundwater levels fluctuate seasonally.
