Hiszteroszkópos

Hiszteroszkópos refers to a medical procedure called hysteroscopy. Hysteroscopy is a diagnostic and operative procedure that allows a gynecologist to examine the inside of the uterus. It involves inserting a thin, lighted instrument called a hysteroscope through the vagina and cervix into the uterus. The hysteroscope has a camera that transmits images to a monitor, enabling the physician to visualize the uterine cavity.

This procedure is used to diagnose and treat a variety of conditions affecting the uterus. Common diagnostic uses include investigating abnormal uterine bleeding, such as heavy or irregular periods, bleeding after menopause, and recurrent miscarriages. It can also help identify the cause of infertility or pelvic pain.

Operative hysteroscopy allows for minimally invasive surgical interventions. During the procedure, instruments can be passed through the hysteroscope to perform biopsies, remove polyps or fibroids, resect adhesions (scar tissue), or even perform endometrial ablation. The procedure is typically performed in an outpatient setting and often requires no or minimal anesthesia, though deeper procedures may necessitate a general anesthetic. Recovery is usually rapid. Hysteroscopy is a valuable tool in modern gynecology, offering precise visualization and targeted treatment for uterine abnormalities.
