Hintsas

Hintsas is a municipality located in the Järva County of Estonia. It is situated near the capital city Tallinn and comprises a number of villages, with its administrative center being first level unit at Hintsa. The municipality covers an area of 170 square kilometers. As of 2017, the population of Hintsas is approximately 473 people. The area is characterized by mixed farming with a focus on animal husbandry.

In terms of industry, Hintsas is primarily an agricultural area with an emphasis on potato production. The area also has limited natural resources, primarily consisting of peat bogs and weathered glacial soils. Local infrastructure includes a road network that connects the municipality to other parts of Estonia. However, public transportation options are limited, with the nearest major transportation hub being located in the nearby city of Paide.

The climate of Hintsas is temperate, with significant seasonal variation. The area experiences cold winters and mild summers, with the average annual precipitation ranging from 600 to 800 mm. The region's geography features a number of small lakes, forests, and agricultural fields. Hintsas is bordered by the municipalities of Türi, Paide, and Vinni to the north, east, and south, respectively, with Estonia's capital Tallinn lying to the west.

Prior to the introduction of municipal reforms in 2017, Hintsas was part of the Türi Parish.
