Hinagdanan

Hinagdanan is a limestone cave located in Dauis on Panglao Island, part of Bohol province, Philippines. The cave features stalactites and stalagmites and a subterranean freshwater pool. A notable feature is a natural skylight high in the ceiling that lets daylight flood the chamber, creating a striking play of light on the water and rock formations.

Hinagdanan gets its name from the Cebuano word hinagdanan, meaning "laddered" or "accessed by a ladder." Visitors descend into the cave using a wooden ladder to reach the main chamber, which is illuminated by the skylight.

Inside, visitors can see stone formations and a calm pool that has drawn both locals and travelers as a point of interest. The site has been a popular tourist attraction on Panglao Island for decades and is often included in island tours that explore Bohol's natural attractions.

The site is typically managed as a park or under local tourism authorities, with facilities for visitors and safety guidelines. The cave's temperature remains cool throughout the year, contrasting with the tropical heat outside.
