Dauis

Dauis is a municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. It is situated on Panglao Island along the northern coast, facing the Bohol Sea, opposite Tagbilaran City on the mainland. The municipality comprises several barangays and is governed by an elected mayor and municipal council.

The economy of Dauis is largely based on fishing and agriculture, with coconuts and rice among its crops, and it is increasingly supported by tourism. Visitors are drawn to its coastal resorts, beaches, and natural attractions. The area also contains inland and coastal landscapes that support local livelihoods.

Hinagdanan Cave, a limestone cave featuring stalactites and an underground pool, is one of the most visited tourist sites in Dauis. Coastal areas, mangrove habitats, and traditional seaside communities contribute to the local character.

Education and infrastructure include several elementary and high schools, and Dauis is accessible by road from Tagbilaran City; the nearby Panglao Island hosts the Bohol-Panglao International Airport, providing air access for residents and visitors.
