Heemskerck
Maarten van Heemskerck (1498–1574) was a Dutch painter and printmaker born in Heemskerk, North Holland, who was active mainly in Haarlem and Amsterdam. He is regarded as one of the leading Dutch painters of the 16th century and an early figure in introducing Italian Renaissance ideas to Northern European art.
