Hearthforges

Hearthforges are compact metalworking appliances that integrate a heat source with a shaping chamber to enable heating and hammering of metal in a single unit. They are designed for small workshops, hobbyist smiths, and educational settings, providing a streamlined workflow that combines the functions of a hearth and a forge.

Most hearthforges consist of two main sections: a hearth, where the fuel provides controlled heat, and a forge or anvil area where metal is worked. The term reflects a fusion of traditional hearths with forging capabilities; many contemporary designs are retrofits to existing hearth setups or purpose-built devices marketed to hobbyists and education programs.
