Havetarys

Havetarys, also known as haversacks, are a type of military rucksack designed to carry a soldier's personal equipment and supplies. They are typically worn on the back and are characterized by their rectangular shape and multiple compartments. Havetarys are made from durable materials such as canvas, nylon, or polyester, and are often equipped with straps and buckles for secure attachment to the wearer's body.

The term "haversack" is believed to have originated from the French word "havresac," which means "bag of grain." This name reflects the sack's original purpose of carrying provisions, such as grain or other foodstuffs, for soldiers on the march. Over time, the haversack evolved to include additional compartments for various items, including weapons, ammunition, and personal belongings.

Havetarys have been an essential part of military equipment since ancient times, with examples dating back to the Roman and Greek armies.
