Hartslagvariatie
Hartslagvariatie, often abbreviated as HRV, refers to the naturally occurring fluctuation in the time interval between consecutive heartbeats. While the heart may seem to beat at a steady rhythm, it is actually a dynamic process where the time between beats varies slightly. This variation is a reflection of the autonomic nervous system's influence on the heart. The autonomic nervous system controls involuntary bodily functions and is divided into two branches: the sympathetic nervous system (responsible for the "fight or flight" response) and the parasympathetic nervous system (responsible for the "rest and digest" functions).
Higher heart rate variability is generally associated with a well-functioning parasympathetic nervous system, indicating a state
