Hampaskiile

Hampaskiile is a rural municipality in the fictional nation of Veridia, located in the eastern Veridian lowlands. The municipality covers about 9.8 square kilometers and had an estimated population of 1,900 in 2021. It sits along the Hamp River, with farmland surrounding a central village. The climate is temperate, with mild summers and cool winters; average annual rainfall is about 900 millimeters.

Name and origin: Hampaskiile combines the name of early settlers, the Hampas family, with the local suffix -kiile meaning valley in the Veridian dialect. The form appears in land records dating to the 17th century.

History: Founded in the 1520s by the Hampas and neighboring farming clans, Hampaskiile gained municipal status in 1873. The 20th century saw infrastructure growth, including a small hydroelectric plant and road improvements.
