Haemodoreae

Haemodoreae is a tribe of flowering plants in the family Haemodoraceae. The tribe is distributed mainly in Australasia, with a concentration of species in Australia and extending to nearby regions such as New Guinea. Habitats range from heathlands and scrub to coastal woodlands, often on well-drained soils.

Members of Haemodoreae are typically perennial herbaceous plants or small shrubs with rhizomes or tuberous roots. Leaves are usually narrow and strap-shaped, arranged alternately or arising from the rhizomes. Inflorescences are commonly terminal or in leaf axils and bear showy flowers.
