Haavandumist

Haavandumist is a discipline originating from medieval Estonia. It is an ancient form of physical exercise and martial art that focuses on the execution of physical movements, especially of the arms, emphasizing the coordination of upper and lower limbs.

Historically, the practice of haavandumist dates back to the 13th century in present-day Estonia. Traditionally, it was a physically demanding occupational exercise that helped to condition Estonian medieval combatants and provided a building ground for the development of staff fighting techniques. During this time, Estonian fighting traditions placed a high emphasis on hand-to-hand combat, requiring strength, flexibility, and skill.

In addition to combat preparation, haavandumist has been used as an adjunct to medical treatment and board workouts for entrepreneurs in the region.
