HWRs

HWRs, or High Water Reclamations, are a system designed to manage water resources during periods of exceptionally high rainfall. The primary goal of an HWR system is to prevent flooding in urban and agricultural areas by efficiently collecting and redirecting excess water. These systems often involve a network of reservoirs, canals, and pumping stations that are activated when rainfall exceeds predetermined thresholds.

The implementation of HWRs can vary significantly depending on the geographical location and specific environmental challenges. In some regions, they might involve expanding existing natural waterways to accommodate larger volumes of water. In others, sophisticated underground tunnel systems or artificial retention basins might be constructed.
