HSLvärden

HSLvärden refers to the HSL color model, which stands for Hue, Saturation, and Lightness. It is a way to represent colors that is often considered more intuitive for humans than the RGB (Red, Green, Blue) model. Hue represents the pure color itself, such as red, green, or blue, and is typically expressed as an angle on a color wheel, ranging from 0 to 360 degrees. For example, red is often at 0 or 360 degrees, green around 120 degrees, and blue around 240 degrees.

Saturation describes the intensity or purity of the color. A fully saturated color is vivid and pure, while a desaturated color appears more muted or grayish. Saturation is usually represented as a percentage, where 0% is completely unsaturated (achromatic, i.e., shades of gray) and 100% is the most saturated form of the hue.

Lightness, also sometimes called Brightness, refers to how light or dark the color is. A lightness of 0% represents black, and 100% represents white. A lightness of 50% typically represents the pure hue with no added black or white. By adjusting these three components – Hue, Saturation, and Lightness – a wide range of colors can be represented and manipulated. The HSL model is widely used in digital design, image editing software, and color theory applications due to its user-friendly nature for specifying and modifying colors.
