HATEOASdriven refers to a software design principle and architectural style that emphasizes the concept of Hypermedia as the Engine of Application State. In a HATEOASdriven system, clients interact with a server by navigating through hypermedia links provided within the server's responses. Instead of the client having hardcoded knowledge of URI structures, it discovers available actions and resources dynamically by following these links.

This approach promotes discoverability and loose coupling between the client and the server. When a client makes a request, the server responds not only with the requested data but also with a set of links that indicate what actions the client can perform next. These links are typically embedded in the response body and are accompanied by media types that describe the data format.

The benefits of adopting a HATEOASdriven architecture include increased flexibility, as the server can evolve its API without breaking existing clients, provided the link relations remain consistent. It also leads to more self-descriptive APIs, making them easier for developers to understand and integrate with. The client's behavior is driven by the server's state, hence the term "HATEOASdriven."
