HACC

HACC, or Harrisburg Area Community College, is a public community college serving central Pennsylvania. It offers associate degrees, certificates, and workforce training, with pathways to transfer to four-year institutions. The college operates across multiple campuses and online, including locations in Harrisburg, Gettysburg, Lancaster, and York, as well as online classes and continuing education centers.

Founded in 1964, HACC was established to provide affordable higher education and training in the region. It later adopted the HACC brand to reflect its service area of central Pennsylvania and expanded to additional campuses and programs.

Academic programs cover business, information technology, health sciences, public service, culinary arts, science, engineering technology, liberal arts, and certificate programs. The college emphasizes career and technical education, transfer pathways, and workforce development through its online and in-person offerings. HACC maintains articulation agreements with many four-year institutions to facilitate transfer.

The institution is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). Several programs hold specialized accreditation, including nursing and allied health fields.
