Gázdesztilláció

Gázdesztilláció is a chemical process used to separate components of a gaseous mixture based on their different boiling points. It involves cooling the gas mixture to a temperature where some components liquefy while others remain gaseous. The liquefied components are then collected, and the remaining gases can be further processed or vented. This technique is particularly useful for separating gases with relatively close boiling points that would be difficult to separate by simple condensation.

The process typically starts with compressing and cooling the gas mixture. As the temperature decreases, substances with higher boiling points will condense into liquids first. These liquids are then drained away, effectively separating them from the remaining gaseous components. The temperature is often precisely controlled to achieve the desired separation. Further cooling can be applied to liquefy components with lower boiling points if necessary.

Gázdesztilláció finds applications in various industrial settings. It is commonly employed in the purification of industrial gases, such as in the separation of air into nitrogen and oxygen, or in the recovery of valuable gases from waste streams. It can also be used in the production of specialty gases and in the petrochemical industry for separating hydrocarbon mixtures.
