The name Gringortens is attributed to early Eldorian botanists and is used in regional field guides and educational texts within the setting.

Description: Plants are compact perennials, typically 8–25 cm tall, with rosette-like, grey-green leaves covered in soft hairs. The flowering heads appear singly on short stalks and feature lavender to pale blue ray florets surrounding yellow disc florets.
