Graymere

Graymere is a fictional town and lake located in the northern highlands of the country of Eldoria. The town lies on the southern shore of Graymere Lake, from which both are named. The lake is fed by glacial streams and forms a central feature of the local landscape and economy.

Graymere Lake covers roughly 12 square kilometers and reaches depths of up to 38 meters. The surrounding countryside is a mix of conifer forests, small farms, and low hills. The climate is temperate, with mild summers and cold winters moderated by the lake’s influence.

The settlement that became Graymere emerged in the late 18th century to serve nearby agricultural and timber communities. A mill town developed along the river feeding the lake, and the site grew as a local market and administrative center for the valley.

As of recent estimates, Graymere has about 4,500 residents. The economy combines agriculture, timber, and tourism, with boating, hiking, and seasonal markets drawing visitors. A light manufacturing workshop produces wood products for regional markets.

Graymere is governed by a town council led by a mayor and is part of Northbridge County. Transportation includes a regional highway and a defunct railway line that has been repurposed for freight and heritage services. A local bus network serves residents.

Cultural amenities include the Graymere Community Library and the Northbridge Museum of History. The annual Graymere Festival celebrates harvest, crafts, and local music, attracting visitors from surrounding towns.
