Glükoosimonitoridega, more commonly known as continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) in English, are electronic devices that track blood glucose levels throughout the day and night. They are primarily used by individuals with diabetes to manage their condition. A CGM system typically consists of a small sensor inserted under the skin, usually on the arm or abdomen, a transmitter that wirelessly sends glucose data, and a receiver or smartphone app that displays the readings.

These devices measure glucose in the interstitial fluid, the fluid surrounding cells, rather than directly in the blood. While interstitial fluid glucose levels lag slightly behind blood glucose levels, CGMs provide a trend of glucose changes, allowing users to see if their glucose is rising, falling, or staying stable. This information is crucial for making informed decisions about diet, exercise, and medication, such as insulin doses.

CGMs offer significant advantages over traditional finger-prick blood glucose meters.
