Glowinks are a fictional class of luminescent organisms used in speculative fiction and worldbuilding to describe tiny, blinking lights produced by biological photophores. The term combines glow with wink, referencing the brief light bursts that characteristically punctuate their emissions.

In portrayals, glowinks range from microscopic plankton-like forms to small insects or larval-stage creatures. They emit light through luciferin-luciferase reactions or photoprotein systems, typically in blue or green hues. Light emissions are often triggered by environmental cues such as pressure, temperature, or chemical signals, producing rapid, patterned "winks" rather than continuous glow.

Ecology and behavior: Glowinks usually inhabit damp ecosystems—coastal pools, mossy forests, or leaf litter—and form loose aggregations at night.
