Gipsilevyistä

Gipsilevyistä, commonly known as gypsum board or drywall, is a building material used for the construction of interior walls and ceilings. It is manufactured by sandwiching a core of gypsum plaster between two layers of heavy paper or fiberglass. The gypsum core is typically mixed with additives to improve its properties, such as resistance to fire, water, or mold.

The manufacturing process involves a continuous pour of gypsum slurry onto a forming fabric, which is then covered by a second fabric. The sheets are cut to standard lengths and dried in ovens. Gipsilevyistä comes in various types, including standard, moisture-resistant, fire-resistant, and sound-deadening boards, each designed for specific applications.

Installation involves cutting the boards to size and attaching them to a framing system, usually made of wood or metal studs. The joints between the boards are then covered with joint tape and a compound, often referred to as "mud," which is applied in multiple layers and sanded smooth. Finally, the surface is prepared for painting, wallpapering, or other finishing treatments.
