Galar

Galar is a fictional region in the Pokémon video game series, introduced in Pokémon Sword and Shield (2019). It is the eighth generation region, inspired by the United Kingdom, featuring rolling countryside, industrial cities, and distinctive architecture. The region's geography includes towns connected by rail and routes that pass through varied climates, from coastal towns to forests and mountains. Central to Galar is the Wild Area, a large open-world zone with dynamic weather and wildlife, accessible early in the game. The region introduced the Dynamax and Gigantamax battle mechanics, allowing Pokémon to grow to massive sizes during battles, a core feature of the main story and post-game raids.

Galar also features regional forms known as Galarian forms for certain species and new Galarian evolutions.

Key Legendary Pokémon associated with Galar include Zacian and Zamazenta, the cover legendaries, and Calyrex, featured
