GNSS Korrekturdienste, also known as GNSS Correction Services, are systems that provide real-time or post-processing corrections to Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) data. These corrections aim to improve the accuracy and reliability of GNSS positioning. Standard GNSS receivers, such as those found in smartphones, offer accuracy typically in the range of several meters. However, many applications require much higher precision, down to the centimeter level.

GNSS Korrekturdienste achieve this increased accuracy by mitigating various error sources inherent in GNSS measurements. These errors can stem from atmospheric disturbances (ionosphere and troposphere), satellite clock and orbit inaccuracies, multipath effects, and receiver noise. By transmitting correction data, these services help users correct for these errors in real-time or during post-processing.

There are several types of GNSS Korrekturdienste. Real-time services often utilize networks of continuously operating reference stations (CORS) to calculate and broadcast correction data. Users with compatible receivers can then subscribe to these services, often via cellular or satellite communication, to receive the corrections and achieve high-accuracy positioning instantaneously. Post-processing services, on the other hand, involve downloading raw GNSS data from a user's receiver and from reference stations, and then processing both datasets together to compute a highly accurate position. Common correction technologies include Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) and Precise Point Positioning (PPP). These services are crucial for applications like precision agriculture, surveying, autonomous vehicles, and scientific research.
