GNDIDs

GNDIDs are identifiers used within the GND Identifier System to uniquely reference entities across different contexts. They are designed to be globally unique, persistent, and resolvable by compatible services, so that references to a person, organization, device, or resource remain stable even as systems change.

A GNDID typically consists of a namespace or authority component followed by a local identifier and optional

Registration and lifecycle: Identities are issued by authorized registries or authorities, with processes for creation, renewal,

Governance and security: GNDID governance typically involves a consortium or standards body, with policies on identifier
