- Fluorescent lighting: In lighting technology, G13 denotes a common two-pin base for linear fluorescent tubes. The base features two pins 13 millimeters apart and is used on tubes with a 26 millimeter diameter, often labeled T8. Lamps with G13 bases are widely used in commercial, office, and industrial fixtures and are typically paired with magnetic or electronic ballasts.
