Førstehredenskrigen, meaning "First Red War" in Norwegian, was a brief but significant conflict that occurred in the fictional world of Aeridor in the year 789 AE. The war pitted the burgeoning Red Dominion, a militaristic state on the continent's western peninsula, against the established Silver Confederacy, a loose alliance of city-states in the central plains. The primary catalyst for the war was the Red Dominion's aggressive expansionist policy, driven by its charismatic leader, Lord Valerius, who sought to unify the continent under his banner.

The conflict began with a swift invasion by the Red Dominion, characterized by highly organized legions and effective siege tactics. The Silver Confederacy, accustomed to a more decentralized and diplomatic approach, was initially caught off guard. However, internal disagreements within the Red Dominion's high command and unexpected resistance from fortified cities like Silverhaven began to stall their advance. Key battles included the Siege of Ironhold, a protracted struggle that saw heavy casualties on both sides, and the decisive Battle of the Whispering Plains, where a coalition of Confederate forces managed to repel a major Dominion offensive.

After approximately six months of fighting, the war concluded with the Treaty of Verdant Fields. The treaty did not result in a clear victor but established a fragile peace. The Red Dominion retained some territorial gains but was forced to halt its expansion. The Silver Confederacy, though weakened, preserved its independence.
