Förfrågningsförfarande, also known as RFQ (Request for Quotation) in English, is a procurement method used primarily in Sweden for purchasing goods or services. The process allows a buyer to submit a detailed request to one or more suppliers, specifying the required products or services, technical specifications, and delivery terms. Suppliers responding to a förfrågningsförfarande submit their quotations, which the buyer evaluates based on price, quality, delivery time, and compliance with the stated requirements.

This procedure is typically employed when the required quantity is relatively small or when the buyer seeks a single vendor to fulfill the entire order. It is less formal than a full tender but still governed by regulations that ensure fairness, transparency, and non-discrimination against suppliers. In Sweden, förfrågningsförfarande falls under the Public Procurement Act and is often used for non-competitive purchases below predefined thresholds.

Key characteristics include a relatively short administrative cycle, limited solicitation of bids, and straightforward contract award procedures.
