Fångbarhet is a Swedish term that translates to "catchability" in English. It refers to the probability that an individual animal will be captured by a sampling method. This concept is crucial in ecological studies, particularly in wildlife management and population estimation. Fångbarhet is not a fixed trait of an animal but rather a dynamic variable influenced by numerous factors.

Several elements contribute to an animal's fångbarhet. These include the animal's behavior, such as its wariness, activity patterns, and response to the specific trapping or sampling technique.
