Fußballregeln, commonly known as the Laws of the Game, are the official rules that govern association football, often referred to as soccer. These rules were first codified in England in 1863 and have been maintained and updated by the International Football Association Board (IFAB) since 1886. The primary objective of the Laws of the Game is to ensure fair play, safety, and an enjoyable experience for both players and spectators.

The Laws cover various aspects of the game, including the dimensions of the field, the number of players on each team, the duration of matches, and the equipment players must use. Central to the game are the principles of scoring, which involves getting the ball into the opponent's goal. Players primarily use their feet to move the ball, but other parts of the body, except for the hands and arms of outfield players, are permitted. Goalkeepers are an exception, allowed to handle the ball within their own penalty area.

The game is officiated by a referee, who has the ultimate authority to enforce the Laws of the Game. Referees are assisted by assistant referees and sometimes a fourth official. Fouls and misconduct are infringements of the Laws, leading to penalties such as free kicks, penalty kicks, or disciplinary actions like yellow (caution) or red (sending-off) cards. Offside is another crucial rule designed to prevent players from gaining an unfair advantage by positioning themselves too close to the opponent's goal. The Laws of the Game are a living document, subject to periodic review and amendment by the IFAB to adapt to the evolving nature of the sport.
