Fulpmes

Fulpmes is a municipality in the Innsbruck-Land district of Tyrol, Austria. It lies in the Stubai Valley on the Stubai River and serves as a gateway to the Stubai Alps for winter sports and summer hiking. The town comprises several villages and hamlets at the valley floor and on the surrounding slopes.

The area is Alpine in character with traditional Tyrolean houses, pastures and forests set against high mountain peaks. German is the predominant language, and local culture reflects Tyrolean customs and Catholic heritage.

The settlement has medieval origins and developed as an agricultural community. It preserves historic churches, chapels and farmhouses that illustrate traditional rural life in Tyrol.

Today, tourism is the main economic sector, with hotels, guesthouses and services for visitors. The Stubai Valley offers winter ski areas and summer trails, with the Schlick 2000 ski area among the nearby resorts accessible from Fulpmes. Agriculture, especially dairy farming, also remains part of the local economy.

Fulpmes is connected to Innsbruck and other Stubai communities by regional roads and by the Stubaitalbahn, a narrow-gauge railway that links Innsbruck with the valley. The area is well linked to the broader Tyrolean road network, facilitating access for tourists and residents.
