Stubaitalbahn
The Stubaitalbahn is a meter-gauge railway line in Tyrol, Austria, running from Innsbruck to Fulpmes in the Stubai valley. It is operated by the Innsbrucker Verkehrsbetriebe und Stubaitalbahn GmbH (IVB). The line originally extended further into the Stubai valley but was truncated to Fulpmes in the 1950s. It serves as an important public transport link for the inhabitants of the lower Stubai valley and for tourists visiting the region. The Stubaitalbahn connects with the Innsbruck tram network at its northern terminus in Innsbruck. The journey offers scenic views of the surrounding mountains and the Stubai Alps. The railway was constructed in the early 20th century to facilitate the transport of goods and passengers into the valley. Today, it is primarily a passenger service, operating with modern rolling stock. The line's infrastructure has been modernized over the years to ensure efficient and reliable operation. It is a popular choice for day trips and as a means of accessing winter sports areas and hiking trails in the Stubai valley.
