Frnkiero

Frnkiero is the solo musical project of Frank Iero, the guitarist and co-founder of the American rock band My Chemical Romance. The project began during and after the period of MCR’s activity, and music has been released under the name Frnkiero and the Cellabration. The debut full-length album Stomachaches, released in 2014, established the project’s blend of punk-inflected rock with melodic and experimental textures. Frnkiero operates with a rotating roster of collaborators and touring musicians, while Iero generally handles writing, guitar, and vocal duties.

The music of Frnkiero is characterized by energetic guitar-driven arrangements, melodic hooks, and introspective, often personal lyrics. The project draws on influences from punk, indie rock, and alternative rock, resulting in a sound that is both aggressive and melodic. Lyrically, the material commonly explores themes of struggle, healing, resilience, and emotional processing.

In addition to Stomachaches, Frnkiero and the Cellabration released a series of singles and EPs in the mid-2010s, and the project has been presented in live performances accompanying Iero’s touring schedule. Frank Iero has continued to release solo material and collaborate with other artists beyond My Chemical Romance, with Frnkiero representing his ongoing exploration of independent, artist-driven projects.
