Fregen

Fregen is a small town and municipality in the northern region of Eldoria, a fictional country. It sits on the eastern edge of the Silverwood plain near the Leth River and covers 34 square kilometers. The surrounding countryside is a mix of farmland and wooded areas. The population was about 5,800 in 2022.

The area has a temperate climate with warm summers and cold winters; average annual precipitation is around 650 millimeters. Elevation is generally low, typically between 180 and 260 meters above sea level.

The first settlements date to the 12th century and Fregen received a market charter in 1282. It remained largely agricultural for much of its history. The municipality is governed by a council of eight members and a mayor elected for four-year terms.

Economy centers on agriculture—grain and dairy—along with small-scale wood processing and crafts. Local services and tourism related to the historic center support the economy.

Culturally, the town preserves a 15th-century parish church dedicated to Saint Michael and a small history museum. An autumn harvest festival is a regional attraction. Fregen is served by a regional railway line and connected by roads to nearby cities, with regular bus services within the municipality.
