Fordelingsnettet
Fordelingsnettet is the portion of the electrical grid that distributes electricity from the high-voltage transmission network to end users. In Norway, it is operated and maintained by distribution system operators (DSOs), commonly referred to as nettselskaper. The network comprises medium and low voltage cables, substations and related equipment that connect households, businesses and public institutions to the grid. The transmission system operator handles the high-voltage network, while Fordelingsnettet delivers power from the sub-transmission points to final consumers.
DSOs are responsible for planning, expansion, maintenance, fault clearance and outage restoration within their supply area.
In recent years, Fordelingsnettet faces challenges from aging infrastructure, increasing distributed energy production and electrification of
The concept is used in Norway and other countries under names such as distribution network or distribution
