Fokusoivan

Fokusoivan is a theoretical construct in cognitive linguistics and education that describes a discourse-processing pattern in which interpretation and memory are guided by deliberate attention to focal elements. The concept posits that meaning emerges not only from lexical content but from the strategic placement of focus cues within utterances, and from the learner's or reader's active control of attention. The term is a coined neologism, formed from the English word focus plus the suffix -oivan to suggest a methodological stance rather than a named phenomenon.

The term appeared in speculative scholarly discussions in the early 2020s, primarily in discussions of attention and discourse processing in multilingual contexts. It has not achieved wide consensus and remains a subject of debate.
