Fluoroesoivia is a fictional term used in speculative chemistry and some science fiction worldbuilding to describe a proposed family of highly fluorinated organic compounds centered on a nonstandard backbone called 'esoivia.' There is no established definition or broad acceptance of fluoroesoivia in real-world chemistry, and the term is not used in peer-reviewed literature as of the mid-2020s. In this context, fluoroesoivia is treated as a hypothetical class rather than an experimentally confirmed substance.

Proposed features include a fluorinated framework with multiple carbon–fluorine bonds, yielding extreme chemical inertness, high thermal and oxidative stability, and low reactivity under ordinary conditions. The compounds are imagined to exhibit tunable polarity and dielectric properties through variable substituents, enabling a range of applications while maintaining low water solubility and high chemical resistance.

Within fictional scenarios, synthesis is described as sequential fluorination of a renewable or synthetic backbone, using reagents like electrophilic fluorinating agents or radical fluorination. In real chemistry, achieving such high fluorination poses challenges, often requiring specialized catalysts and stringent handling due to the hazardous nature of fluorinating reagents.

Usage in fiction may include fluorinated lubricants, heat-transfer fluids, dielectric liquids, or components in energy storage devices; in any case, ethical and environmental concerns would be significant given persistence of highly fluorinated compounds.
