Floatkarburatorer

Floatkarburatorer, also known as float carburetors, are a type of carburetor used in internal combustion engines to mix air and fuel for combustion. They are commonly found in older gasoline engines, particularly in two-stroke engines and some four-stroke engines. The float carburetor consists of several key components: a float chamber, a float, a jet, and a throttle valve.

The float chamber contains a mixture of air and fuel, with the float resting on the surface of the fuel. As the engine runs, the float moves up and down with the fuel level, maintaining a constant fuel level in the chamber. The throttle valve controls the amount of air entering the carburetor, while the jet controls the amount of fuel that is mixed with the air. When the throttle is opened, more air is allowed into the carburetor, and the jet allows more fuel to mix with the air, creating a richer fuel mixture. Conversely, when the throttle is closed, less air and fuel are mixed, creating a leaner fuel mixture.

Float carburetors are relatively simple and inexpensive to manufacture, making them a popular choice for older engines. However, they are less precise than modern electronic fuel injection systems and can be more prone to clogging and other issues. As a result, they are being replaced in many modern engines with more advanced fuel delivery systems. Despite their limitations, float carburetors remain an important part of automotive history and continue to be used in some applications today.
