Filmképzdést

Filmképzdést is a Hungarian term that denotes the process of creating film images, i.e., the formation of moving pictures during production and post-production. The concept covers decisions about framing, camera movement, lighting, color, and subsequent image-adjustments that shape the final visual narrative.

In practice, filmképzdés overlaps with established areas of cinema practice such as cinematography (operatőri munka), képkompozíció, világítás, and color management. The term is not widely used as a fixed label in Hungarian cinema theory; scholars more often refer to képalkotás (image creation) or képtervezés (image design) or simply filmmkészítés to describe the broader process of making films.

Technological change has broadened the scope of image formation. In traditional filmmaking, image formation depended on film stock, lenses, lighting, and in-camera composition. With digital cinema, it now includes CGI, digital color grading, compositing, and HDR imaging, integrating cinematography, postproduction, and visual effects into a cohesive workflow.
