Felszínmodelleken refers to surface models, a type of digital representation used in various fields, particularly in computer graphics, geographic information systems (GIS), and engineering. These models capture the shape and characteristics of a physical surface, allowing for its analysis, visualization, and manipulation in a digital environment.

There are several common types of surface models. Triangulated irregular networks (TINs) represent a surface as a network of interconnected triangles, where the vertices of the triangles are sample points from the surface. This method is often used for terrain modeling. Another approach is the raster model, which divides the surface into a grid of cells, with each cell assigned a value representing the surface characteristic at that location. This is common in digital elevation models (DEMs). Digital surface models (DSMs) specifically represent the elevation of the Earth's surface, including natural features and human-made structures like buildings and trees. In contrast, digital terrain models (DTMs) typically represent the bare ground surface without these above-ground objects.

Surface models are crucial for applications such as 3D visualization, hydrological analysis, urban planning, and the design of infrastructure. They enable simulations of environmental processes, the calculation of volumes, and the creation of realistic renderings. The accuracy and resolution of a surface model depend on the data used to create it, which can come from sources like aerial photography, satellite imagery, LiDAR scans, or ground surveys.
