Farland

Farland is a constitutional monarchy and parliamentary democracy on the eastern coast of the fictional continent of Elaria. It is bordered by Northmarch to the north, Southvale to the south, and the Northern Sea to the west. The capital and largest city is Lyston. The official language is Farlish, with minority communities speaking Northmarchan and Serran. The population is about 6.1 million.

Geography includes coastal plains, rolling hills, and part of the Silvercrest mountains in the north. The Serin River flows through the central lowlands. The climate is temperate maritime with mild winters and cool summers, supporting diverse agriculture.

Government is a constitutional framework with a ceremonial monarch and a prime minister who heads the cabinet. Parliament is bicameral, comprising the Senate and House of Deputies. Local governance consists of seven provinces: Ashenwald, Brineport, Crescent, Eastreach, Glenmere, Highmoor, Ironvale.

The economy is diversified, including agriculture, fishing, light manufacturing, and a growing services sector in finance and IT. The Port of Lyston is the major international hub, and trade agreements support export growth.

The population is predominantly urban, with major cities Lyston, Brineport, and Crescent. The country hosts diverse ethnic and religious groups, high literacy, and a public education system. Cultural life emphasizes music, literature, and environmental stewardship.

The modern state emerged through regional unification in the 17th–19th centuries, with a contemporary constitution adopted in 1956 and later reforms. Notable landmarks include the Silvercrest Observatory and Port Gate.
