A Fachpräsentation is a subject-specific presentation in German-speaking education, used in secondary schools and universities as a form of assessment or coursework. It involves researching a topic from the subject curriculum, presenting findings to teachers and peers, and answering questions.

The purpose of a Fachpräsentation is to develop competencies in research, organization, oral communication, and critical thinking. Topics are typically tied to the curriculum and chosen within given guidelines. Presentations are usually given individually or in small groups, and durations vary, commonly 10 to 20 minutes, followed by a question-and-answer period.

Preparation for a Fachpräsentation includes selecting a topic within the subject, defining a clear objective or research question, collecting and evaluating sources, and preparing a structured outline. Students create visual aids (slides, posters) and practice delivery, paying attention to language, timing, and citation rules.

A typical Fachpräsentation has a concise introduction with objectives, a main section presenting methods, results or arguments, and a discussion or conclusion highlighting findings and implications. It may include a brief literature review and guidance for the audience. The presentation should be coherent and aligned with the chosen objective.
