ExcludeUsers

Excludeusers (also written as excludeUsers) is a configurable list of user identifiers that should be omitted from a particular operation within a software system. It functions as a blacklist or suppression mechanism, with the exact effect varying by context. In some implementations the list prevents those users from receiving notifications; in others it skips them during batch processing, data export, or access checks.

The parameter is expressed in platform-specific syntax. Common representations include JSON: { "excludeUsers": ["user1","user2"] } or YAML: excludeUsers: [ "user1", "user2" ]. Some systems accept a comma-separated string in a config file or CLI: --exclude-users user1,user2.

Typical use cases include suppressing messages for certain accounts, excluding test or service accounts from data pipelines, and enforcing privacy or compliance rules by omitting sensitive users from exports.

Key considerations include ensuring the list is kept in sync with the user directory, handling case sensitivity, and auditing changes. Large or dynamic lists may impact performance and complicate debugging; testing in staging is advised before deployment to production.

ExcludeUsers is not a universal protocol; its name and behavior vary by system. It often pairs with includeUsers or allowlists to define access and processing boundaries, and the exact semantics should be clarified in system documentation to avoid unintended exclusions.
