Eulima

Eulima is a genus of small to medium-sized sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Pyramidellidae.

These animals are typically found in tropical and temperate oceans around the world, with a preference for shallow waters, often at depths of just a few meters. The genus is characterized by its slender, elongated shell, which is usually around 1-5 cm in length. The shell itself is relatively uniform in coloration, often a light brown or cream, with no distinctive spiral ridges or patterning.

Eulima species feed on algae, microorganisms, and small invertebrates, using their radula to scrape food particles from surfaces. Some species are known to be parasites, attaching themselves to other marine animals and feeding on their tissues.

Eulima species have a worldwide distribution, although certain regions are richer in diversity than others. In certain parts of the Indo-Pacific region, there are reports of high levels of endemism, where species are found nowhere else on Earth. In other areas, such as the coastal waters of Japan and western Europe, diversity is equally marked but at a different scale.
