Ettevõtluslaen

Ettevõtluslaen is a Estonian business loan program designed to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) finance investments and working capital. It is typically implemented through commercial banks in cooperation with KredEx, the Estonian Credit Guarantee Fund. The program aims to support entrepreneurship, modernisation, productivity, and growth of Estonian companies.

Eligible borrowers are Estonian-registered SMEs with a viable business plan and a reasonable repayment capacity. Startups with a credible business idea may also qualify if they meet the lender’s requirements. Funds from Ettevõtluslaen can be used for investments such as equipment, technology upgrades, production capacity, and energy efficiency, as well as for working capital needs like inventory and payroll.

Applications are submitted through participating banks. The bank conducts its standard loan assessment, often with additional scrutiny from KredEx. KredEx may provide a state guarantee or a subsidy element to reduce risk for the lender and to lower the effective interest rate for the borrower. Terms, including interest rates, repayment period, and collateral requirements, depend on the specific loan type and the borrower’s profile.

The program is intended to foster sustainable business growth, job creation, and competitiveness of Estonian enterprises. Applicants should prepare a solid business plan, financial projections, and documentation of how the funds will be used. The loan is generally subject to bank approval, with support from KredEx to facilitate access to financing.
